  • MLCS 101: Introduction to Stress Management CoachingThere is a pressing need for competent Christian stress management coaches today. Dwight Bain, Dr. Eric Scalise, and Jennifer Cisney introduce this growing segment of Life Coaching and take a closer look at the various opportunities that are available. The importance of balanced living and the need for accountability is also emphasized.
  • MLCS 102: Using the Stress Test to Measure and Manage Pressure PointsGood stress management coaching begins with completing a thorough assessment. Dr. Tom Whiteman describes the use of an effective measurement tool to create a Stress Quotient. Related factors, the concept of optimal stress, and individualized stress prevention plans are also covered.
  • MLCS 103: Life on the Edge: Tension and Toxic LivingThe effects of stress on the body can be profound and even destructive. In looking at the lives of the Apostles, stress expert, Dr. Archibald Hart, helps coaches understand the dynamics of stress and their consequences, especially upon the major bodily systems. Managing stress and adrenaline levels are also emphasized.
  • MLCS 104: Stress and AnxietyCommon anxiety and depressive disorders can also be tracked through a person’s brain functioning. National medical expert, Dr. Daniel Amen, show how Brain SPECT Imaging can be used to better understand certain phobias, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and PTSD. Automatic Negative Thoughts (ANTs) are also discussed.

Dr. Archibald Hart provides a theological perspective and discusses different types of sleep and anxiety, as well as how they are inter-related.

Dr. Catherine Weber and a panel of experts dialogue about the differences between men and women, issues such as workaholism, and the emotional, mental, physical and spiritual consequences to not setting boundaries.
  • MLCS 108: Thrilled to Death: the Loss of PleasureMan was created to receive and enjoy pleasure, but living in a fallen world and oversaturated culture has distorted God’s original design. Dr. Archibald Hart teaches on the role of pleasure and its opposite function, Ahedonia. The difference between pleasure and happiness, as well as the impact on brain chemistry is also covered.

  • MLCS 111: Compassion Fatigue: Managing the High Cost of CareIn this lesson, Dr. Eric Scalise will discuss the importance of self-care and give resources and clear guidance regarding self-assessment. The world today is one full of stress and trauma, and those in the ministry or helping profession need to become educated on the topic of compassion fatigue. Dr. Scalise will discuss how caregivers can take care of themselves, develop a personal stress prevention care plan and survive coaching stress.
  • MLCS 112: The Rest Principle: Spiritual Peace in a Chaotic WorldThe principle of rest is often overlooked and disregarded by many in today’s fast-paced, instant-everything world. Dr. Siang-Yang Tan provides an overview of four different dimensions of rest (physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual). The practice of spiritual breathing, incorporating the spiritual disciplines, and maintaining a consistent Sabbath rest are also discussed.
