Dr. Struthers discusses the Theory of Brain Organization, as well as nervous system and gender differences that impact autonomic responses, affect, cognition, behavior, and more. In Part II, Dr. Struthers examines diagnostic factors related to brain function and sexual addiction, such as excitement seeking, dysregulation, gender differences, emotional avoidance, and motivation. Screening and assessment tools are reviewed that help distinguish between use, misuse, abuse, full-blown addiction, and tolerance. Treatment recommendations are also offered.

Understanding brain chemistry, the role of fantasy, and how they are messages from the soul are key components.
