Proverbs 22:6 says that we are to, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Research consistently shows that it’s not necessarily what we know about parenting that matters for successful and healthy child outcomes, but who we—as parents—are, in fact, becoming. For parenting to be effective, mothers and fathers must learn how to speak to their children and win their hearts. Understanding core strategies, as well as critical moments in a child’s life, can make all the difference.
